ACD and Nexomic Partner to Strengthen Oncology Development Strategy with Multi-Omic Intelligence
Nexomic’s DECODE platform to inform trial design, patient selection and Go/No-Go decisions from real-patient biology
LONDON, July 17, 2026 – Alpha Clinical Developments Ltd, a full-service clinical research organisation led by CEO Adnan Mahmood, today announced a collaboration with Nexomic to bring multi-omic biological intelligence into the design of oncology clinical development programmes. The partnership pairs ACD’s clinical and oncology expertise with DECODE, Nexomic’s biology intelligence platform for de-risking oncology development. Built on DeepOmic, Nexomic’s multi-omic foundation model, DECODE turns clinical, real-world and multi-omic patient data into decision-ready evidence, that identifies the biological drivers of response and resistance, defines responder-enriched populations and informs trial design and development decisions. The aim is straightforward: to help sponsors design better-targeted trials and make sharper development decisions, beginning each programme with the end in mind.
Alpha Clinical supports sponsors across the full arc of oncology development, from early-phase strategy through to registration. Its teams inform protocol design, endpoint selection and predictive outcomes, work that increasingly relies on interpreting complex, patient-level biology rather than clinical data alone.
Applied within Alpha Clinical’s development programmes, DECODE maps a trial population by its underlying biology rather than diagnosis alone, resolving the molecular subtypes and patient segments that sit behind response and resistance. It then connects those segments to likely outcomes, generating testable hypotheses about mechanism of action and resistance, and identifying the responder-enriched populations that matter most. For sponsors, that feeds directly into cohort selection, biomarker strategy, enrolment criteria and indication focus, the decisions that shape whether a programme succeeds. Because the commercial fate of a therapy is largely set early in development, DECODE gives Alpha Clinical and its sponsors stronger evidence behind each Go/No-Go call, and a better chance of taking the right assets forward for the right patients.
For sponsors, the goal is fewer late-stage failures and more confident development decisions, grounded in the biology that determines whether a therapy works.
“Most oncology drugs that fail do so not because the molecule is wrong, but because the trial could not tell which patients would benefit,” said Mohammad Ghosheh, Co-Founder and CEO of Nexomic. “DECODE was built to change that. By decoding a patient’s multi-omic biology, we can help sponsors understand who is likely to respond to a therapy, and why, before a trial begins. Working with Alpha Clinical puts that intelligence directly into the design of oncology development programmes, where it can do the most good.”
“Better oncology development begins with a deeper understanding of the biology that determines treatment response.” Said Prof. Humaid Al Shamsi, Co-Founder and Chairman of Nexomic. “This collaboration brings DECODE’s multi-omic intelligence into clinical development strategy, helping sponsors strengthen patient selection, biomarker planning and critical programme decisions.”
DECODE sits within a wider Nexomic platform that spans the development lifecycle, from DISCOVER, which surfaces new targets in resistant disease, to oncoREVEAL, a tumour-agnostic report predicting patient response, all drawing on the same DeepOmic foundation model. Alpha Clinical and Nexomic intend to extend their work across that platform over time, applying it to a widening range of tumour types and development questions so that sponsors can match the right therapy to the right patients earlier.
“Our sponsors do not just need trials run well; they need the right development decisions made early,” said Adnan Mahmood, CEO of Alpha Clinical. “What drew us to Nexomic is that DECODE speaks to exactly that. Bringing real-patient biology into how we design programmes helps our clients understand which patients a therapy is for, and build the evidence to stand behind their decisions. It is a genuinely different way to de-risk oncology development, and we are glad to be doing it together.”
About Alpha Clinical Development
Alpha Clinical Development is a global, full-service CRO supporting early- through late-phase clinical development, post-marketing, and real-world studies. Since 2012, ACD has partnered with sponsors worldwide across clinical consulting, pharmacovigilance, R&D operational support, and clinical talent solutions.
About Nexomic
Nexomic is a Dublin-based precision oncology TechBio company that uses frontier AI and patient multi-omic data to understand the biology behind treatment response and resistance. At its core is DeepOmic, a tumor agnostic multi-omic AI foundation model trained on multi-omics data from patients across more than 30 countries. Built on it is a suite of solutions spanning the development lifecycle: DISCOVER for target discovery in resistant disease, DECODE for de-risking clinical development, and oncoREVEAL, a tumour-agnostic report predicting patient response.
